I Saw the Finger of God

What caused the war which gave our neighbours the opportunity to lead us up the hill of death? This was one of the questions on my mind as a twelve year old boy who was about to be slaughtered. I give an account in this book of how suspicion and doubts create fears that turn family members, friends and neighbours into "enemies" who believe that all will be well when the others are dead. But long after the "enemies" died and the civil war in Nigeria ended, the fears remain because those who were hurt are yet to heal. Reprisal violence cannot heal the afflicted. Violence produces more violence, hatred, bitterness and fears which are transferred from one generation to another. I will tell you what heals.
