My Granddaughter's name is Bloom. It's a name that's been in her father's family for many years. A good friend of mine, Julia Rueger, is an accomplished dollmaker. She created a fairy doll and asked me if she could name her doll Bloom. Of course, I was thrilled. When I saw her doll, I was immediately inspired to write about her. I have pictured her here. She is magical. So, I bought the fairy doll, Bloom, and gave her to my granddaughter, her namesake, for Christmas. The exciting result is that I wrote this book. It is the story of Bloom, the Flower Fairy Princess of the beautiful Woods of Eire, also known as Ireland.
