Bachelor Thesis from the year 2023 in the subject Medicine - Other, grade: passed, language: English, abstract: Vaccine hesitancy poses a significant challenge to global efforts in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. Understanding the factors influencing vaccine hesitancy is crucial for developing effective interventions and strategies to improve vaccine acceptance. This study aimed to examine the factors influencing COVID- 19 vaccine hesitancy among the older adult population. Using the Multidimensional Vaccine Hesitancy Scale, this study investigated the factors influencing vaccine hesitancy among a sample population. The research focused on assessing the respondents' perceptions and attitudes towards various aspects related to COVID-19 vaccination. Data were collected through surveys and analyzed using statistical tests such as Simple Mean, Pearson correlation, t-tests, and ANOVA. The findings highlight the multidimensional nature of vaccine hesitancy, with varying levels of influence observed across different factors. Among these factors, health risks and physical pain emerged as key contributors to moderate levels of vaccine hesitancy. On the other hand, the costs, inconvenience, personal reactions, access, their healthy condition, and forgetfulness, have little to no influence towards their vaccine hesitancy. The study underscores the importance of addressing concerns regarding health risks and physical pain associated with vaccination. Tailoring interventions and communication strategies to address these concerns may help alleviate hesitancy and improve vaccine acceptance. Furthermore, providing clear information on vaccine costs, convenience, and access and addressing concerns related to Forgetfulness is crucial for increasing vaccine uptake.
