In the stillness of the wintry morning, I have in front me a bundle of letters which collectively make an anthology of profound poetry. I met Mrs. Nancy Paul (Nancy K Anto) amidst the crowd in the social media. In the modern world where a new category of poets has evolved, it's a fact that the term is widely used to underrate one's creative expression, hiding the reality that the same has paved way for a number of gifted writers to enter into the mainstream literature. Nevertheless, the first encounter with Nancy's work itself was sufficient to bring a glimpse of her poetic brilliance. Though a poet is rather 'born' it is often the experiences in their life bring the creative juices into a spontaneous flow. Later conversations with the poetess proved the same, where I found her fight with, in her own words the 'clever cruel colonizer' cancer has been the major inspiration to bring about the poet in Nancy. A panting weaver, Muted Music, Is this Christmas Eve? Deer and Panther, Waves retrieved not yet are some of them. However the later works by the poet such as 'Will it bloom in Aceldama' attempt to portray the present scenario in her life where "Virtue is a waxing moon and Values trapped in some Cul-de-Sac. Nancy's poems are rich with the lushness in nature where we find herself an ardent lover of Mother Earth. Though the same is clearly visible in most of her works, "Here lies my soul," Nature tell me your true nature', and 'Tabula Rasa' are a few to be highlighted. Perhaps a perfect blend of vivid imagery of the earth and the philosophy beyond makes her works distinctive and that makes reading rather an experience to be cherished. Poems such as 'Leaping Labels ', Sans Souci, Crush me not, The Unpaid etc. speak about the inner conflicts of women that I am sure would throw light upon the age in which she lives. 'Matchless Love', 'Loadstone of love', 'Fidus Achates, are the poems which deal with the theme of family and friends. 'The promise never broken', 'The real dream', My blissful Soul, A ray of hope are the poems with an optimistic note. The marvel of Nancy as a poet is that whatever theme she attempts, she maintains justice to its core. Through carefully chosen words and delicate emotions, she finds a place in the very heart of a reader. 'The Unmuted Music' is not just the debut volume of poetry by Nancy Paul, but this marks the very beginning of her journey to eternity! I am sure the world would cherish this volume of splendid poetry!
