The Big Blue Tree is about Dary, a young boy who is given an assignment of observation in his 2nd grade elementary classroom. When it comes time for Dary to present his assignment to his class, he tells his story about what he saw down the street from school. Because his story seems like an exaggeration and a complete farce, no one believes him, except for his young friend Jess. The Big Blue Tree takes the reader on a drive through truth and a bit of excitement where Dary goes on a field trip to explain his story to his teacher and classmates to avoid failing the class.
