There is more than one Earth. Four Earths exist, moving around the same sun and moon, unseen and unknown to each other. There was once a fifth Earth. Greed and religious extremism caused the population to fight each other and the planet destroyed itself with catastrophic weapons. The Ambassadors of Adva, a group of humans from other galaxies have been watching the Earths for millennia. Worried about humanities lack of intellectual and moral growth, scientists on their ship, the Observant Cansilerax, create Awareness Dust that will cover each person and give them and evolutionary boost. But after being sent out in the direction of the four remaining Earths, the four dust streams reject the planets and instead come together. They form a black woman in a Revolutionary War coat and a sentient golden throne with magical powers. Dayjenderalice and Ivatremo. Lovesick and not wanting to go to class, college student Gus Wilder goes to the comfort of his bed, only to have the mattress fly up into space and dump him on a throne. Dayjenderalice is not pleased at his appearance and has little compassion for his plea to return home. She herself has no choice about her direction; the throne Ivatremo takes her to different places on the Four Earths and their alternate realities, and she has no power to operate it or to tell it where to go. She does however have the power of telekinesis and telepathy, and can create small things like money out of thin air. Ivatremo takes Dayjenderalice and Gus to witness an Earthquake in suburban Oklahoma, and then to Colorado where a family is being forced off their farm so it can become the sight of fracking. Dayjenderalice has the calling of being a community organizer, and helping people overcome political and economic obstacles that stand in the way of their heath and happiness. The golden throne separates her and Gus and leaves Dayjenderalice in the small town of Fairview where she works with a teenage activist and a worn-down veteran protestor in trying to stop a pipeline. Gus Wilder winds up in an alternate universe version of his own Earth. Through magical means he does not understand he is placed inside the body of his otherworld self, who happens to be the President of the United States. Protesting is made almost illegal on Dayjenderalice's Earth and Law and Order robots are sold to governments to reinforce the ban. An alien has turned many in Gus Wilder's government toward a plan to enslave humanity. The Profit Miners, a secret group of the wealthy and politicians have made contact with Grondamous, a shape shifter from the evil Nazui. The fiend can create a Vacant Virus that will dull peoples mind and erase their free will and personal desires, making them susceptible to being programmed. Gus and Dayjenderalice must protect all four worlds from the virus and keep Grondamous from unleashing it on every human in every dimension, as the Profit Miners on Gus' alternate Earth plan to become kings.
