As a Naval Officer I realized that my real responsibility, besides not crashing the airplane the tax payers had loaned me and not killing myself, was the care and feeding of the officers and enlisted men and women that I was responsible for. My main strategy was to watch those above me and emulate those things that worked well and avoid those things that made me angry. I was fortunate to serve under some of the best and the worst.
