Darlene was born in November, 1957. She was brought home to a little Cape Cod house on a quiet street in Connecticut. Growing up in the sixties.....Christmas brought Bing Crosby on the phonograph. It's A Wonderful life showed on the old black and white console television set. Letters to Santa were written after many hours of perusing the Sears Wish Book. Cookies were baked. Big fat snowflakes rushed by the picture window in the living room. The Christmas tree blinked in the corner and the nativity sat in a place of honor on the mantle piece. This storyteller remembers the holiday as a simpler time. A time for church and packing the little house with a big group of relatives.....aunties, uncles, cousins and grandparents too. Childhood gave way to young adulthood and the college years. Then came the days of being a newlywed and creating her own Christmas traditions. Then onto celebrating with her own little children. Come and visit with her on Columbus Street. Let her memories remind you of your own precious days of Christmas past.
