The Foundations Chronicles is the sequel to The Foundations Codex. Set two years after the end of the Codex, it tells of the lead-up to the Deceptican Takeover and to the beginning of the resistance and start of the Deceptican War. The Foundations, a national cooperative replacing the functions of banks and of Wall Street with a member owned entity. Set in Economic Democracy and building a second economy to counter the threat of complete ownership by the few and the death of democracy. But it is in it's development of technologies to break the grip of of an economy based in shortage for the many and power and luxury for the few, that it becomes a real threat to those they call the Decepticans. Building technology to create power from water, high speed low cost desalinization and finally anti-gravity, they move humanity forward. But those innovations are not in the plans of the Decepticans. Finally, after twelve years of martial law, the fate of the first freely elected government since, become tightly intertwined with the Foundations. But all bets are off when the Decepticans decide it's time to quit the expensive job of fooling as many as possible and decide to take over the world's government while ridding themselves of the majority of the Earth's human population.
