Tony Fellows, the Shaman of the title, is near the end of his life, or so it seems. He is trapped in a nursing home in Anchorage, Alaska, having aged mysteriously. Near death, he must still wrestle with his nemesis, the Celtic God Lugh of the Long Hand, who continues to appear in dreams, instructing Tony on how best to find the magic code that will restore Lugh's power on Earth. Tony does find the code, hoping his discovery will release him from Lugh's grasp. Lugh, however, has other plans for Tony.
