Prayer in its simplest definition is talking to God. It is a collection of various forms of utterances authorized and supported by the word of God; empowered, activated and established in the earth by the Holy Spirit. Prayer embodies the same system of belief that framed the world, and consists of one or a combinations of prayer forms, i.e., prophetic utterances, praise and worship, confession and repentance, dedication and rededication, warfare, and/or corporate agreement. Prayer is speaking forth the authority of the word with an expectation that God hears the prayers of the righteous; and obligates himself to answer by orchestrating the hidden, commanding the universe, and engaging the angels in a symphony of events to bring about the desired end. God moves as righteous believers use the authority of prayer to invoke his Name. If you want to subdue the works of the enemy imitate how Jesus talked to his Father vs. how he talked to satan. Resolve that you are not going to be content with passive Christianity; spewing meaningless, rhetoric and hypocritical ritualistic prayers to impress others; rather, resolve to be proactive in your faith as a coworker with God not only in believing, but becoming the personification of active faith by honoring what the scriptures stipulate when seeking God in prayer.
