Jord of the Jungle is the real-life tale of a lifelong city boy who wound up living in the biggest, densest rainforest in the world.Jordan Flagel, a former dual-sport collegiate athlete, had just finished his lone season of international football and was looking to make a change. He wanted to use his hard-earned degree in environmental geography to work in the field - but he never thought he would end up in the little-known country of Guyana. What started as an offline blog to share with friends and family grew into an incredible tale of river monsters, jaguars, three-legged caimans, Amerindian village parties, bow fishing, and a trip through the jungle all the way to Argentina. Jordan was lost in the forest alone, ate wild rats, drank a cup full of fire ants, and stared down a puma on a trail. He entered Guyana as a kid from the city with little connection to the natural world. He left as Jord of the Jungle, a vine-swinging, fish finding, 'big mon' who was welcomed by the locals and found a home amongst the trees.
