A New Beginning is a story of a ruler by name, General Pover Pover, who usurped power with force of arms and tried to lord it over his subjects. The ruler impoverished those he ruled to make the people weak and unable to challenge him. General Pover succeeded with his evil act and his subjects were weakened, confused and down trodden. Due to hardship and frustration, many resourceful citizens of the country left their nation for overseas in search of a good standard of living and quality life. He deceived his subjects by putting in place political transition arrangements to make people believe that he has plans to hand over power to a democratically elected government. By weakening the people economically and confusing them politically, many people lived in pain and penury in a country with abundant resources. As he kept changing and manipulating the political time-table, there came a time when he broadly played the tricking agenda by thwarting the political arrangement which people thought would have brought an enduring democracy. With that, there was an uprising and the people took their destiny in their hands and violently sacked the evil administration and ushered in democracy. That was the demise of tyranny which ushered in a new beginning of hope and a bright future. Peace, understanding and tranquility were once restored in the polity. When good living was restored, the country witnessed tremendous development on all sides - social, political, educational, mental, infrastructural, industrial among others. Also, many people who ran out of the country due to hardship started to return home. That came to prove that a place may not rise above her leadership and that bad leadership not necessarily lack of resources is often responsible for decay, stagnation and underdevelopment in many nations. It proves that even with abundant resources, a country can still suffer with bad leadership. And with little resources, a country can witness tremendous growth with good leadership.
