Jesus used the illustration of a child to show the disciples their need to let go of calloused hearts. Children are adoring, loyal, and highly impressionable. Many Christian children love Christ and believe in the gospel because¿ well¿ they just do! But is that good enough reason for an increasing skeptical and irreverent environment they will meet at college or corporate world? What happens when our KIDS are challenged by someone with a strong opposition to their belief in Jesus Christ? What if those questions and opposition are JUST strong ENOUGH to cause reasonable doubt, curiosity, or even rebellion? So, while simple devotion to Christ is encouraged, blind faith is never helpful. That is why some teaching in apologetics, defense of their faith, is very important. "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" (I Peter 3:15, NIV).This study guide provides such training, and equips both teachers and students with biblical truth needed to explain their faith without deception or apprehension. Perhaps for many of us, this will be a lifelong journey! We may not be great evangelists that can quote historians or theologians verbatim. But, we ARE committed BIBLE STUDENTS and; above all else, we are JESUS FOLLOWERS. We're leaders - leaders of children - the ones to whom the Kingdom belongs. Let's equip them to inherit the Kingdom till the end.
