Paul wrote in Philippians 1:27, ¿Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.¿The phrase ¿striving together¿ is an athletic term that refers to a spirit of cooperation, love, mutual respect and devotion. It points out that the relationship between two Christians is to be a friendship or, as the Bible describes it, a fellowship¿sharing together of good times and bad.Someone has said that coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, but working together is success. And that is the spirit of teamwork that we need to have in the local church. Another writer came up with the acrostic for TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.¿Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment¿(1 Corinthians 1:10).That¿s what the Bible calls UNITY!
