Young people have to develop their own faith. Not only do they need their own convictions regarding things like God and the Bible, they need to know why they have these convictions. Sooner or later, young believers will encounter things that will cause them to question their faith. Perhaps it's a tragedy that causes them to doubt God. Maybe it's a friend or adult who belittles their faith. The constant bombardment of evolution being taught as fact can certainly have an impact on one's thinking. If a Christian doesn't know why they believe what they believe, they can soon find themselves not believing at all.
