In the olden days A Judas Goat is one who introduced to the herd just before slaughter. He is very friendly and nuzzles up to the herd, then leads them up a ramp into a lorry to be taken away. The farmer extricates the Judas Goat who has done his job. This is just what the Union Chairman did to his fellow Union Members.
