Dr Andrew Powell held academic and NHS consultant posts in psychiatry and psychotherapy in London and Oxford for over 20 years. He is co-author of 'Listen to Your Body: The Wisdom of the Dao' (Hawai'i University Press, 2001) and co-editor of 'Spirituality and Psychiatry' and 'Spirituality and Narrative in Psychiatric Practice: Stories of Mind and Soul' (RCPsych Publications, 2009, 2016). The first volume of Andrew's papers, 'The Ways of the Soul. A Psychiatrist Reflects: Essays on Life, Death and Beyond', was published by Muswell Hill Press in 2017, followed by publication of a companion volume, 'Conversations with the Soul. A Psychiatrist Reflects: Essays on Life, Death and Beyond', in 2018. Andrew is Founding Chair of the Spirituality and Psychiatry Special Interest Group of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK.
