This is the story of Catherine O'Laughlan, Irish Potato Famine orphan. Catherine was one of thousands of girl orphans who survived the Potato Famine of the mid 1800s and who were given a chance for a new life in Australia. She was the only one of her Irish family to survive the famine, which led to the deaths of over a million people.
