Louise, Sarah and Maria are grieving the loss of their mother. Sarah, an air steward, uses her busy schedule to hide her abusive marriage from her sisters. Confused by her husband's contempt towards her grief she struggles to maintain her denial. In the wake of her mothers death her husband has dropped his facade and she is faced with a choice she never imagined. Louise, happily married, is feeling the strain of her twin boys boisterous antics and the schools intolerance.
