Relive the life of Adam Daniels, born bi-racial in the Jim Crow South in 1940. Raised by his Negro grandparents and other extended family members.A year earlier, his mother knew how wrong it was to breach the "Whites Only" sign in front of her but crossed that line anyway, thinking about all the rich white girls who desired what she had without even trying. And then there was Adam, who at birth, looked like he didn't have a "colored" bone in his body and shunned by both sides. White folks thought his mother was his wet nurse, and her new beau gave her a choice.Growing up colored, he gradually learned of the family legacy of fighting hatred and tragedy. His grandparents walked a very thin tightrope during those times. They faced unashamed racism and gave up in the search for faith since having it couldn't save them from despair.He knew what love was from the examples he witnessed at home, where he learned the rewards of success. Adam saw both as a child and while becoming a man, when he learned that passion could come without love, but it was better the other way around.Family and friends surround Adam in manhood and refuse to allow him to forget the strength he inherited as a Daniels.
