Building Bridges: The Impact of Neuropsychoanalysis on Psychoanalytic Clinical Sessions

New findings in neurosciences are revealing unexpected aspects of neuroscience and pushing the entire field toward unexplored regions. Besides the advancement in the understanding of psychic processes, neurosciences offer psychoanalysts the opportunity to enhance the dialogue with psychiatrists, neurologists, and other scientists, expanding the theoretical model.Building bridges between Neuropsychoanalysis and Psychoanalysis through the clinical sessions would be the main purpose of the book. This consists of three parts. In the first part is a summary of how to look to the dream through various models. Some research about the "know how" the day's residues have been investigated are introduced. The day residues represented into the dreams depict wishes, thoughts, and concerns, will be explored from different approaches. Clinical vignettes provide us the possibility to better understand the value of the dream into some specific psychopathologies, here considered.New findings on - Addiction, Depression and Trauma - will be proposed in the second part according to the point of view of Neuropsychoanalysis. The third part would be the clinical connection between the psychoanalytic clinical perspective and the theoretical/clinic Neuropsychoanalysis, following the analysis of dreams in session.Conclusive consideration would fill the gap between clinical psychoanalysis and neuropsychoanalysis.
