Overview
The Book is a result of my struggling to get a hold of what the Twelve Steps offer. Where is the power coming from? Is there power in certain steps...or is it only by practicing abstinence that somehow invites healing, strength and happiness? This book was written because I was granted freedom in certain contexts by my Higher Power. The Steps gradually grew into focus with healthy understanding and helped me go further in my walk in this the Valley of shadow of tears. We are all made in the image of God. But sin, hurt and harm can mutilate that image. how does it mutilate that image? By us inviting horrible uncaring attitudes into our relating with others. Such is always a negative, burdensome and weakening strategy and so we look for relief. What we choose to relieve our burdens becomes our addiction. These Steps help us to wash the hurt away.
