Nevins

Nevins, a black cat, lives alone in a home left to him by his former owner. He sees a young boy, Clay, in the park and realizes the boy is homeless. He asks the boy to stay with him during a Hurricane. The two become friends, and Nevins decides to adopt Clay. A court battle ensues.
