A newborn's father arranges for her transfer to a church in Germany where she's cared for by two devoted nuns until she is officially placed with an older American couple in France. None of the mothers or wives, know anything about the circumstances surrounding the adoption of Heidi Rose.As Heidi grows up, she must deal with her mother's increasingly bizarre behavior which creates roadblocks in her development.
