This Teacher Workbook is an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural survey of how gender, race, class, sexuality, nationality, and other social categories intersect to shape human consciousness and determine the social organization of human society. This workbook will primarily focus on how our social categories are historically and socially constructed, how they have changed over time, and on possible directions for future change. Teachers will help students to be able to analyze how and why relations of power - manifested as domination and subordination - most often incorporate these categories in our society.
