A poet's heart and soul is found in his or her poetry. So be it in my collection: Poems for an Afternoon Sojourn. A poem transfigures for a time how the reader conceives the world. Poems are written to stir one's emotions that is why I composed poems for so many different categories. Religious poems are written to uplift one's soul unto God. Humorous poems try to bring a smile to one's face especially after a hard day's work. Of Past Ages wants you to see the beauty and mysteries of the past. Seascapes paints a romantic yet sometime tumultuous picture of the seaside. Nature tries to catch the souls of the Green and Colorado Rivers in two of their ever-changing moods. Life brings new meaning to the idea of a rose. Patriotism is an overture to our country's sometime chaotic past with a glimmer of future hope. The Seasonal category touches one with the joys of Christmas that delight especially children. A bit of Testimony prose gives hope to those imprisoned by the shackles of anger. A bonus short story tries to end the collection that is primarily poems in a definite cheery mood.
