The Journey So Far

The cultural and educational background of families of the two individuals who came together to give me life was coincidentally similar.By coincidence, both were born into polygamous homes, and nobody in both families had benefitted from any formal education before my birth. My paternal uncle, Wallace and my maternal uncle, Lawrence were the first beneficiaries of any formal education in the two families, and they both started elementary school at different times after I was born. I believe that my father's decision to send me and all my brothers to school, even when he could not conveniently afford the cost, must have stemmed from his enlightened outlook to make up for his own unfulfilled dream to go to school.
