Take Another Step is a poetry book that is written in three parts, each one looking at different circumstances we may face in life; loss, depression, growth, happiness, empowerment. It looks at the struggles of life and who we are and moves onto wanting to find out who we can be and how to then become that person. It discusses learning through facing difficult situations and growing through them. Some of the poems are quite positive and encouraging. The three parts have distinctive topics throughout them however, they do overlap because in life we may face many different situations all at once, some may be positive and unfortunately some may not be. The structure of this book tries to stay authentic to that. Some of the poetry does have a Christian twist to it as the author is a Christian, but whether you're religious or not, I think we can all agree that there is beauty in anything that can help us grow and become better versions of ourselves than we were yesterday.
