Bred in New Mexico, he is owned by Tom and Nina Gonzales who live in Tres Piedras, New Mexico. Spark of Fire, the big stout roan, is as easy to the eyes as Nina her owner. Spark is a horse that would make anyone proud. He is magnificent looking and his training is beginning to demonstrate his potential. Tom and Nina had retreated to Tres Piedras where they had found cheap land and elbow room to raise their daughter Vickie. At some point one of their horses, Spark of Fire, started to show a great potential for speed. Danny, Tom's cousin, showed up two years into his training and the novel launches into a wild ride into the backside of the racing industry. The lure for fast money abounds in the horse racing industry. The people that live there are rugged and unafraid of the most spirited of those fast horses.
