This story is a post apocalyptic novel about the events resulting from the end of the Mayan calendar. It takes place in Puget Sound Washington and along the Pacific coast of that state. On the morning of the Winter Solstice, 2012, Adam Palmer wakes to an empty world. There are no people, no animals, no birds or insects. Nothing. All human created power has gone. All that appears to remain are the wind and he tides. Adam sets out in his sailboat to explore and try to find someone or something alive. He discovers that some people have survived, but these are mostly in survival mode and hostile to anyone they meet. Only the native tribes along the coastline seem to have survived intact and they blame the white population for the catastrophe that occurred. Slowly but surely the fauna reassert their presence on the land and in the sea. Adam's struggle to unite white and red men to build the beginnings of a new and better society lead to the establishment of New Roanoke Island near the mouth of the Columbia River. (1 map included.)
