Making Sense Out Of Nonsense

This manuscript, based on true events, is narrated by Gretta Meshale Cobbs. At the beginning of the text, Gretta witnesses a domestic dispute between her parents that took a violent turn. After her father slaps her mother, Mrs Cobbs returns the blow. Lola Mae Cobbs then does the unthinkable: she shoots and kills her husband, Jimmy Lee Cobbs, Sr., with a shotgun. Throughout the work, Gretta looks back on her childhood before her mother shot her father. The book chronicles the difficult court battle that ended with Lola Mae Cobbs being acquitted of murder out of self-defense.
