HE CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT: The Messiahmas Story

Why do we celebrate Christmas? The hallmark of our celebration as believers in Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah, is our recognition that God becoming a human, one of us, and yet remained God. We celebrate Baby God of the Nativity, born of a Jewish virgin, in Israel, and born in a very dark and sinister time. Yeshua came upon a midnight in Israel, and yet, the people who lived in darkness saw a great light. Yeshua was the great miracle that happened there (Nes Gadol Hayah Sham) when all was dark in Israel and in the world. The Persian Magi knew His coming by observing His star that appeared, and they came as Isaiah prophesied with a multitude of camels -although anticipating a King upon Israel's throne. There was one, but not the messiah of Israel. Rather, the devil's proxy, Herod the Great ruled. It is a mystery that when God sent His only begotten son to Israel, His Prophet, Priest, King, Lord and Messiah, the greatest Idumean in the world would be ruling Israel's throne. God does not always plan or answer our prayers as we think He should. God does not always remove the bullies, heal from cancer, save us from disease or darkness. In fact, God did not do that for His on son. Yoseph and Miriam with baby Yeshua had to "run for their lives" down to Egypt. Only after Herod died did God signal for Yoseph to return with Miriam and Yeshua back to Israel, and even then because a sinister son of Herod was ruling (almost as wicked as Herod the Great), Yoseph moved on the Nazareth. We will always have darkness, yet God's LIGHT OF THE WORLD now rules and saves us from eternal darkness. Messiahmas should be the greatest Feast Israel celebrates, yet modern Israel as a whole remains unbelieving in Yeshua, but there are more and more Jewish people coming to faith in Yeshua - more in the last two decades than the last two millennia.
