Three year old Maggie hears footsteps in her room in the middle of the night. Her mother leans over her, kisses her and tells her good-bye. Maggie then hears a car pull up in front of their house and watches as her mother gets into the car and the car pulls away. Mommy is gone. Maggie is raised by a single father who does not allow Maggie to talk about her mother. Years later, Maggie discovers that a woman matching her mother's description was pulled out of the Detroit River. Maggie's father had been contacted by the Detroit Police Department to come and identify the body. He refused to do so. Maggie must deal with the fact that her father kept her mother's death from her for over 25 years. A story about deceit and forgiveness and much more.
