God, unhappy with mankind, has sent a blue comet to destroy the earth, but has offered one chance. The main characters, Jenny Spadaro, an agent with the FBI, and Marc Prentis, an archaeologist, share the appearance of Mother Mary in a small Catholic church near Marc's house in northern Arizona. The Blessed Virgin tells them about the comet and gives them an almost impossible task set by God; to place a golden disc on the outstretched left hand of a tall, gilded statue of Mother Mary high atop a cathedral in Avignon, France. The story plot involves the search to find this golden disc in time and place it on the statue's hand. They have one month. Once the disc is set in place, God will cause the comet to miss the planet. The search for the golden disc includes the Inca of Peru and the Hopi people of Arizona. A secret space program with unlimited financial resources has had established bases on the Moon and Mars since the 1970's. There are two large triangular spaceships which are capable of reaching Mars within three days. The wealthy and powerful have long been aware of the blue comet and have financed and constructed an underground base a half-mile below the surface on the Martian moon, Phobos. The two huge triangular spaceships land on an air lock in a small impact crater. A large platform elevator takes cargo and passengers to the base below. A total of 1,444 of the world's wealthiest and their families will leave Earth for Phobos on the two ships when the comet is two weeks away leaving everyone else on Earth to die. An Eco Farm, covering 640 acres, has been created that is run by hydroponics, aquaponics, and aeroponics. Nearly one thousand people have been abducted to build the base on Phobos and run the farm. The missing people, taken for their expertise, have made the base sustainable for themselves and for the wealthy elite when they arrive. Somehow, all of the people at the base on Phobos must be rescued and the golden disc placed on the statue's hand. Faced with these two daunting missions, the main characters, knowing that the fate of the world lies in their hands, proceed with determination, courage and faith. This is an entertaining, timely, and exciting present day science-fiction suspense driven tale, offering both adventure, exotic locations, and romance. The Domain of Arrogance is a story that comprises politics, the environment, the worldview of indigenous peoples, spirituality, and, most importantly, man's relationship with God.
