The strongest challenge to Christianity is the problem of evil, especially when trying to reconcile a loving God with: horrors against children the suffering of innocent animals suffering in hell suffering in ignorance of the truth because God spoke to one very small nation, but was silent to the majority of the world presumably condemned without a chance of hearing the gospel. He expected to affirm his atheism, but one by one, his studies kept pointing to Christianity as true, with the one exception being the problem of evil.
