Overview
Tartt Fiction Award! These Deep South stories focus on character and setting. They often present humor and on occasion delve into form. Southern? Experimental? A collection of stories you'll come to love as you might love something crippled but precious, love it so much you'll worry that your head may be broken. Isn't that a problem? Remember: Holes can show up out of nowhere. One day all is solid and some other day, there's just a rubbly floor. But this is not a book of strategies to deal with uncertainty. It's a book about the collapsing floor of living. Probably best if you don't talk about it and instead just read the stories. Maybe you will then call somebody on the phone and read one to them, let them know the floor they're standing on has a whole lot of things moving beneath it. Fiction. Experimental Fiction.
