The third leg of Sing's journey takes him to San Diego where his best friend, Trent, suspects a shipment of yellowcake uranium is scheduled to be smuggled aboard a cargo ship owned by the mysterious underworld figure, Uncle Sam. Trent hires Sing to investigate whether the contraband is destined to be processed into a weapon to be used against the United States. When Sing interferes with Uncle Sam's plans, the resulting backlash impacts everyone close to him and provokes a final confrontation with Sing's enemies and also with his feelings for Hailee.
