ADHD, a Power to Rebalance offers a new perspective on this condition, which has been viewed until now primarily as a handicap requiring compensation. In fact, individuals with ADHD have highly flexible interpersonal boundaries, which leaves them particularly vulnerable to de-centering, but also allows them to perceive their environment with a high level of sensitivity and to think very quickly (picture thinking, which is five to seven times faster than the linear verbal thinking process). They are able to think outside the box, and to bring a creative perspective to everything that surrounds them. All of these are powers which should be exploited. The approach proposed here is founded as much on a vast clinical experience as on the most recent research developments in ADHD, in neuroscience, and in the psychology of resilience. This perspective does not avoid the fact that ADHD constitutes a real problem, nor does it deny the existence of a psychological dis-regulation that has a significant impact on the affected person. The author believes in interdisciplinary thinking, and it is through this lens that her work proposes to the reader a new way of thinking about ADHD, presenting new and effective solutions. This work, in addition to proposing new methods to be used, brings about a new current of thinking that is full of hope.
