The rise of Populist leaders offering simplistic 'solutions' to the problems of modern societies is unprecedented. Voters are increasingly rejecting the tired programs of mainstream parties that are incapable of addressing the actions that are required if western liberal-democracy is to survive and thrive. The 'Anti-Populist Manifesto' offers a program of reform and policies that are essential for survival. The problem is, as the author concedes, that they are too radical for any serious chance of implementation - it is after all, an anti-populist program. If some useful ideas are proposed and if some thought and debate results, then something will have been achieved. But make no mistake, these solutions will cause pain, particularly to the world of corporations that appear to be a law unto themselves, beyond the reach of single nations, even those with the will to act. You may not like what you hear, but you will be challenged to think.
