THE FLOOD OF TIME is a time-travel novel set in current times (3rd person POV, 87,000 words). The Habitat and Oceanographic Research Agency (HORA) has been around since the presidency of Harry Truman. A serendipity at HORA revealed that it could send objects and messages back in time. A rogue employee in a since-discontinued branch of HORA staggered the Christian universe and sending cameras and recorders back to the time of the crucifixion. Under the new director, General Pershing Rhodes, HORA has to walk a tight-rope due to the furor. An Aramaic translator is kidnapped and placed on a freighter in the Gulf of Mexico. HORA's equipment may help to rescue her after she is thrown overboard miles out at sea. HORA discovers the freighter was carrying an atomic warhead that the Earth III Cartel wants to set off in harbor at New York City. Later the cartel tries to destroy a dam at the Big Tombigee Complex in Alabama and kill 250,000 to 500,000 people. HORA makes breakthroughs in sending back experimental animals, and Rhodes himself volunteers to be the first human sent back in time. HORA staffers try to prevent the dam destruction and the sabotage of a nuclear sub that may make Europe uninhabitable. HORA is so top-secret that only the current president and an informal council of former presidents are able to discuss options with the HORA director.
