ESP stands for "extra sensory perception" and involves reception of information not gained through the recognized physical senses but sensed with the mind. In 1957 something rather extraordinary happened at the American Legion headquarters building in Washington D.C. There was a demonstration of 'extra sensory perception' (ESP) given by Mr. William Foos, attended by about twenty or so individuals, including at least one FBI special agent. On July 16, 1957 a "confidential" report was prepared for the Assistant Director of the FBI's Domestic Intelligence Division Alan H. Belmont called: "Extra Sensory Perception." It deals primarily with the FBI's interest in possibly using ESP for law enforcement and intelligence gathering purposes. Besides the FBI, the CIA and Army Intelligence was also very interested in Mr. Foos ESP research and insights at the time, all of which is outlined in some detail within this rather fascinating report. Bear in mind however that this is a real life "X file." The events and circumstances described in this particular report are as real as it can get!
