This book began to be written in the mountains of the province of León, Spain, several decades ago and was completed in the Caribbean, specifically in Santo Domingo. It deals with the plausible tragedy of the life of Asilis and Margot, within the framework of a surrealist novel, based on real and distorted facts, on the frustration of the search for generational and individual success and racism against Haitian migration in the historical context Caribbean region, and in the context of magic and voodoo. As the author explains: "Asilis, the protagonist, experiences failures in the midst of his efforts to succeed in life. The recurrence of magical thinking as a solution, given the lack of hope and his beliefs in voodoo, is the guiding thread of this history ." The author takes us to the stage of a village in the Dominican Republic, neighboring with the Republic of Haiti, where he worked like a doctor in first years on de the decade of 1980th and heard these stories. The characters are all the result of the author's imagination, as are the names. In the historical context, real characters appear, such as General Trujillo, François Duvalier, General Kebrau, etc. The reality of the scenario is really like that of the village established in those years. If there is a resemblance to reality it is pure coincidence. This masterpiece is highlighted by reflections focused on the universal emotions of the characters.
