The Stranger From The South

Less than a dozen generations after the waters had receded following the time of The Great Flood the man who'd grow to be called Baruch of the two rivers had been charged with a grand mission by God. He'd been endowed with powers far beyond what nearly all could begin to dream of acquiring and been assisted by a large regularly replenished army of spirits who'd been by his side to help him in his work. He'd been further armed with the splendid gratuity of his body being safely excluded from the demands of time as he'd went about the world serving The Lord. And during the time of his service he'd seen his share of oceans, forests, mountains, deserts and even the steppes, the savannas and the jungles of this Earth. That was all over though now as he'd become a fugitive of Heaven and after a lengthy chase he'd been captured. The only authentic pleasure he really had left for the foreseeable future was to share his story with a man whose heart was in many ways comparable to his own. After that he had a sentence of desolation and exile to look forward to. He dreaded the coming of this time of exile which had been assured of being highlighted by a strange captivity even as he looked forward to the arrival of the one he'd tell as much as he could of the story of his life. He'd tell of his triumphs, his tragedies and his more appalling missteps including the one that had led to his fall from grace and placed him at the mercy of Heaven itself.
