They have just about time left to mount a drive, but on third and ten from their own thirty the quarterback watches the tight end just a little too closely, I step in front of the ball just before he gets it and I'm off to the end zone. I am not as fast as I was last year, the quarterback catches me at the five, but he can't stop me until we cross the goal line. I am getting up listening to the crowd cheer when I get hit from behind directly over the wound. I go down hard and my side and back feel like they did that day when I had to go in for the second surgery. I can hardly breathe for a couple of minutes. I hear the crowd has gone deathly quiet, not a good word to use when you feel like I do now. Dr. Ben and Mindy's mom are kneeling down beside me when I can see straight again.
