HAPPINESS is the elusive state of joy that almost everyone who was ever born has sought, desired, and cherished for the brief moments they thought they had found it. Our U.S. Constitution guarantees our PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, but to most people, happiness is usually a fleeting illusion, or distant memories of silly childhood innocence. Happiness means many things to many people. Whether rich or poor, intelligent or stupid, well-educated or illiterate, mean or nice, or whatever in between, the common goal in life comes down to HAPPINESS. The problem with modern society, the more we have, the less happy people seem to get because they have to pay for it and become indebted over their means. Perhaps trying to be happy in a world that has become too complex has its drawbacks. Maybe it's too difficult to find the simple happiness buried under layers of mental and emotional clutter, experiences that have been defined by our social conditioning and cultural norms. Certainly, happiness is oftentimes to be found right under our noses. And it's usually free for the discovery, if we could only see it clearly.
