Gods and Humans, What is the Difference? A Code of Ethics for a Medieval World.

This is a civilized world we dwell within, this is the idea we have been taught from a young age. But are we truly civilized if we are taught to oppose each other, if they do not share our ideas? How can we be hope to be civilized if the institutions of religion, science, medicine, psychology, government and others teach us to hate our neighbors but to love them unconditionally? If we are at the mercy of our own hate, how can we find love to balance our hate? If we have lived within a world which thrives upon hate, how will we ever learn if we are hateful or not? More importantly though, how can we learn to love in spite of our hate? Perhaps if we are to love we would require a code of ethics to live by, to safely guide us from a life of the storms of chaos, to the peaceful shores of nirvana? Our destiny is in our hands this is a path we must choose for ourselves, but can we live with the outcome of our choices, or could we make wiser ones?
