Each woman had one thing in common; they had survived the loss of a child. The four women commit to share their lives and their journey in a weekly women's group in an effort to heal from heartache and move forward. Nina lost her daughter Lyric to a tragic car accident just as she was on the verge of rekindling a romance with her ex-husband and Lyric's father, Jake. Nina is a song writer and Jake is a rapper/producer who co-writes with Nina. Jake has lost his ability to walk due to the accident. Nina must make the decision if she will return to Jake and help him heal, while she is trying to fight through her own depression. Elise is a single mother of three. She was never married, and her children are her life. She lives in a home that includes her mother and father. Her oldest son died as a result of Leukemia. Her parents provided for her and her children while she took care of her son during his long illness. She now has to learn to be a mother again to her two younger children and get back to work so that she can build a life of her own.Tara is married to Monroe. They are middle class and both successful professionals. They are in their early 40s and tried for many years to have a baby. Finally, after multiple attempts through IVF they were successful. They refused to go through genetic testing because they were so grateful for the blessing. In initial ultrasounds a heart abnormality was discovered. When they gave birth to a beautiful baby girl she was immediately taken to the NICU for testing. After one year and two surgeries their miracle died. They now must figure out how to move on while this tragedy has caused the foundation of their marriage to fall apart. Sara is a grandmother who has been raising her only daughter's son since she was convicted of drug trafficking and sentenced to 15 years. She tried her best to control him but between her job at the bank and trying to visit her daughter and help with appeals he somehow got away from her.
