Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common form of leukemia in the western world, although being significantly less common in Asia and Africa. Momentous progress has been made in every aspect of CLL management; from diagnosis, criteria of initiation of treatment, risk stratification, monitoring and treatment. With increasing understanding of the disease biology, recently there has been an exponential development in the armamentarium of the therapies available and many new drugs have come to the fore and have replaced many conventionally used strategies for the better.
