Bittern is the second novel by Iranian novelist and screenwriter Mohammad Abedi. Life, with its pleasure and pain, beauty and ugliness, coexist. Yet, it is invariably ugliness that prevails, pain overshadows pleasure. Pain assumes the form of a massive rock, while pleasure remains as a minute pomegranate seed.
